HE The Minister hails government forum

 

Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza has hailed the outcome of the Government Forum held on the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister.
He said the forum represents a valuable opportunity for all government sectors to study and discuss proposals and the mechanisms of implementation of programmes and projects and gives the government a full picture of the orientations and aspirations of the people of Bahrain as well as the future challenges and achievements, in spite of the economic challenges.
He said the forum is also an exceptional initiative to improve the outcome of government work and achievements in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The minister also praised the speech and presentation by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister at the opening of the forum in which he set out goals and policies on a number of issues of concern to the country and the citizen.
He stressed on cooperation between officials in the government to achieve efficiency and productivity in work and in achieving the objectives of the development programmes of the government.
The speech presented optimistic expectations about achievements in the six main axes in the work programme of the government. The minister said the Crown Prince today is an inspiration and a catalyst to do more work.
The minister stressed that the forum successfully contributed to highlighting the various services provided to citizens and residents of Bahrain, including electricity, water and renewable energy services.
He said the forum also opened the way for everyone to express opinions and make proposals for Bahrain’s development and find more ways and mechanisms that contribute to citizens accessing the highest quality of services.
The Minister said that this forum will lay the foundation for integrated coordination between various sectors of society to reach the goals set by the vision of Bahrain’s 2030 Economic Vision.
He said he had the honour to participate in the event and was specifically a part of the session that discussed the achievements of the National Plan for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy adopted by the Council of Ministers in January this year.
This includes setting a national target of five per cent of the energy use being renewable energy in the years to come. He also praised efforts of the government headed by His Royal Highness the Prime Minister and the follow-up and initiatives of the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister for achieving sustainable development and attracting new investments.
He also spoke about the government recently approving a project to build a 100 megawatts solar power plant to produce clean and sustainable energy.
He said this legislation that would allow individuals to produce solar energy in their homes for personal use is being drafted and one of the largest consulting companies in this field is involved in that exercise.
