HE The Minister receives UN official

Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received United Nations Resident Coordinator and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme Amin Al-Sharqawi and reviewed the objectives of sustainable development, especially the goals of sustainable energy.
The minister said Bahrain has made great strides in the field of renewable energy due to consolidation of efforts from all ministries, government agencies and non-governmental organisations. He said it is all due to the support of the wise leadership and their belief in the importance of achieving national and international commitments in the field.  He said private sector to support the investment market in renewable energy and energy efficiency was also important.
Mr. Al-Sharqawi praised the support of the wise leadership and the efforts of Dr. Mirza to support the renewable and sustainable energy sector. He said such efforts and developments will contribute positively and will be an important element in the periodic report on sustainable development goals to be presented to the United Nations in 2018.
