HE The Minister chairs national committee meeting

Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza chaired the third meeting of the National Committee to follow up the implementation of the energy efficiency plan and renewable energy plan.
Fourteen members of the committee of senior officials of several ministries and related government bodies took part.
Each member submitted a time-bound detailed plan for the implementation of the initiatives and programs assigned to them in both the National Energy Efficiency Plan (NEEAP) and the National Renewable Energy Plan (NREAP).
The meeting reviewed developments in the preparation of the necessary legal and technical requirements before implementing the net metering policy. A consultancy company was appointed to complete all the administrative and technical procedures required to implement the net metering policy, expected to be completed before the end of the year.
The meeting also reviewed the developments in the procedures required to tender for the project of 100 megawatts solar energy, including the appointment of the consultant and locate the land required for this purpose.
The Chairman of the Central Cooling Sub-Committee presented a plan of action to increase the use of central cooling, and the Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Green Buildings presented a picture of the developments in this initiative.
While the National Energy Efficiency Plan (NEEAP) includes 22 initiatives for buildings, supply of electricity, the government, economic, transport and industrial sectors, the National Renewable Energy Plan (NREAP) includes six initiatives.
The minister thanked the wise leadership for supporting renewable energy initiatives and raising the efficiency and rationalization of electricity and water consumption. He also thanked the members of the committee for their constructive suggestions.
