The Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) Customer Services Centre has been named the best in the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC).
The recognition came during the Smart Solutions for Customer Services Forum held in the United Arab Emirates.
The Diamond Award was received on behalf of the EWA by its Customer Services Director Sheikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
Assistant Undersecretary for Electricity and Energy at the UAEâ€™s Ministry of Energy Fatima Al Shamsi said the award came Bahrainâ€™s way after evaluating the Customer Services Centre and its work to serve the people. It was also adjudged on the basis of its administrative leadership, change management, risks and crises, strategic planning, human resources, corporate resources, operations, products and services administration.
Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza, who visited the centre yesterday, dedicated the award to His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister who he credited with the attention, guidance and support that resulted in the achievement.
The achievement comes as another feather in the cap of the EWA, after the best application for smart phones and the award for the best application of electricity and water grids and water the US company ESRI.
